We offer a homeschool cooperative program where you can easily create your own homeschool community. Our desire is for you to have a group that will journey together through homeschooling. This will provide your kids and families with invaluable relationships.
LIGHTcooperative has programming for kids from Kindergarden to 8th grade, with preschool and nursery available as well.

Purpose
LIGHT Cooperative is an educational organization purposed to train children with life skills. Being able to communicate clearly, solve problems and work with a team prepares children for successful relationships and careers.
- We desire to give our children a well-rounded education.

Cooperative
Homeschooling moms are BUSY and have a full load. On purpose, we've created a template with roles that are easy to manage and take minimal preparation.
Each woman has a job within the co-op as well as assisting in a class on co-op days. In true cooperative living, we all contribute to lighten the load for all.
Most families want to know the nitty gritty of what will be expected from them. We offer a lot of opportunities and do our best to keep the burden from becoming heavy on any particular family.

Speech Class Teachers - Teaches speech class for 2 age groups, the plan for the year is already put together
Collaboration Teacher - Prepares the supplies for planned collaboration activities and leads the children in the activity for 2 age groups.
Field Trip Guru - Arranges and coordinates monthly field trips.
Gym Teacher- Plans and leads group physical activities for 2 age groups. We cover stretching/strengthening exercises and 1 team sport a month.
Preschool Coordinator - Plans and implements activities for preschoolers - something like 2 read-alouds, a group activity and a fingerplay or craft. We also leave plenty of time to play with others.

You will:
- have one job, as much as possible in line with your God-given strengths.
- teach or assist in 2 classes and have one hour of Mom's Time Out to talk & pray with other moms during 1 class period.
- arrange one MNO (DNA) a year with a partner
- lead Gifted Girls/Gutsy Guys with your spouse or guest of your choice 1 time a year.

Those with a teaching role will be teaching 1-2 of the same classes (ex. 2 levels of collaboration) and those with a non-teaching role will be assisting in 2 classes.
The hour they have off we call Mom's Time Out. During this time we simply ask, "What are you facing that you could use prayer for?" This time of communicating our needs and lifting each other up in prayer has been a rich blessing to us as busy homeschooling moms. |
We're all busy! We have designed the program to allow the majority of your planning and communicating on collaborative Google Documents. We effectively to minimize extra meetings and communicate by email, Google Docs and Zoom.
At least 2 in person meetings are recommended over the summer for your group to plan and connect. We even provide templates you can use to run your meetings. |
